First of all let me say I was guite surprised at the tone of your post. Before crticising someone elses research you also need to check your facts.Havnt you ever transcribed a date incorrect?

As being a name carrying McIntosh I will continue to post whatever and wherever I wish, related to the McIntosh family or associated surames.I have been doing McIntosh research for several years and my notes on the various line are quite extensive as my website shows. It details many of the lines of McIntosh in Scotland and in the US.

Though I do appreciate your pointing out my assumed error. The truth to the matter of the Mcintosh genealogy of Gordon Mackintosh alias McIntosh of Duinkeld SCT. and later Iowa is as follows...

Gordon Mackintosh (McIntosh) imigrated to the US from Dunkeld,( Dunkell ) Perthshire Scotland in 1871. He first shows up in the household of one John Carter,( 1880 Iowa Census ) living in Allens Grove Township, Scott County IA. He was listed as being 19 years of age.

It appears that he met Sarah or Saraha (last nane unknown, father born Russia, mother born Hebrew PA) while living in Allens Township as they were married abt 1889/90 and one child, Mavis, the eldest daughter, my great aunt, was born there in July of 1890.The susequent children are all listed as being born in IL.

Next we find Gordon and Sarah in the 1900 census of Illinois having at that time 4 children ( including Donald S. McIntosh , my fathers father )and being married abt. 10 years. Why or how they moved to IL is unknown.Gordon was listed as being 39 at the time.

Then in the 1910 census ( Gordon is now 49 years old and has a wife Sarah living on Aberdeen Street in Chicago) we find the same Gordon and Sarah now with 6 living children from a total of 8 , of whom is mentioned my Great Aunt Alice, the youngest daughter, and Donald S. McIntosh's older brother Charles L McIntosh of whom I thought may have been the Charles from the Bible dated 1881. Turns out the Charles from the bible was Gordon's father who was born 1837 in Dunkeld Perthshire Scotland, and whose wife was Mary, presumed Mary Gordon. Though on this point I have not been able to document her maiden name.

Donald S. McIntosh, my grandfather shows up again in the WWI draft records of 1918 as living on Halstead St, in Chicago, with the nearest relative his mother, Sarah, living in 49th Rd Chicago IL.It was the Halstead St address that I visited as a child when my grandmother Ruth G. McIntosh passed away in 1967, her husband, Donald S. McIntosh, son of Gordon Mackintosh, grandson of Charles Mackintosh of Dunkeld, having passed in 1964.

Donald S. McIntosh shows up again in the 1920 census for Chicago having a wife Ruth G. and one son Donald Gordon abt 1 year old, my father, who was born May 30, 1918. The marriage of Donald S and Ruth G McIntosh is recorded in the family bible of Charles, the grandfather as having occured in 1916.

Donald Gordon McIntosh married Ruth Irene Bailey-Goff of MI. in April 1940 and honeymooned in or near Bowling Green KY, they settled in Michigan and had 5 surviving children, of whom I am the youngest. Ruth I. father was Everett Goff, son of John and Martha Goff and brother to Eber and her mother was Hazle Bailey. Everett and Hazle died in the 1960s in MI.

My older brothers were Gordon Donald Everett George Mcntosh, and Ronald Scott Thomas McIntosh who have since passed.

So as you can see from above. I have done my research and am greatful to all who have contributed to my effort.

Kenneth McIntosh
Kentucky
