My great-grandmother's name was Ingeborg Sogaard. She was born in Iowa and had sisters named Tyra and Clara. Her parents were both born in Denmark. Her father was Mads (sp?) Sogaard. Her mother’s name may have been Elfreto Sogaard.
When the girls were young their mother died and they were placed in foster families. Ingeborg was put into a foster family named Skarie (sp.?). Later her father reclaimed Ingeborg and Clara. They then moved to White City, Florida, in what was then Brevard (now Saint Lucie) County, Florida. .
I believe the family had been in Iowa and Minnesota prior to Florida. Perhaps in Lanesboro and Albert Lea, MN.
I would greatly appreciate and help in locating more information about these Sogaards. Thanks so much.
