The JENNESS family home was in Portsmouth NH. Dr John H JENNESS b c 1863 attended St Johns College & U of MD; delegate to Senate 1898, from Cecil Co MD; resided Rising Sun. =============================- From the 'WHIG'...3-12-1887 Shockley & Smith, auctioneers for Robert C. Thackery, trustee, sold on Tuesday at public sale at the Court House door the real estate of the late Samuel J. Jenness. The Jenness mill property containing forty acres, improved by a stone grist mill and dwelling house was bought by Robert C. Jenness for $7,200. The Jenness farm near Woodlawn, containing 57 acres, improved by a frame dwelling was purchased by Evan G. Sentman for $2,650.
