My family is from Iowa but my uncle, Gary Keith, was stationed in North Carolina while he was in the Marines. He was on leave and was in a car accident outside Jacksonville. He was a passenger in the car and died as a result of the accident in 1973. I have never seen the article or heard much talk of it. I was talking to my mother recently about my research for our family history and asked her about it. She was young but still remembers hearing my grandparents talk about the accident. We are not sure about the complete story because it was such a long time ago and we don't know where to look for the article that was posted in the newspaper. My mother believes it was in both the newspaper in Jacksonville and in her home town. We have not found anything in her home town but are still looking. Someone else in the family mentioned something about it being an involuntary manslaughter case but we are not sure on that either. I don't know who the driver was or how many people were in the car. We do know it was in 1973 and in the Jacksonville area. If anyone can help us find the article it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Wendy :)
