Thanks Phyllis! You have found the same info I have so far...but I am still looking :-D
I have queried SAR just 2 days ago so have not yet heard back, but I am anxious to see what they have to say.

I think with "Love" I will have to start with her death and see if I can find any information working backwards...so I think I may have to look into records in Stratford Iowa....however that is done.

In our family the Thomases and Huitts run rampant as given names though the spelling for Huitt is often changed.
In one stretch we have Huitt the father of Thomas who has a son Huitt who has a son Thomas.....talk about confusing! The dates are very important! Even more so when they name a newborn after a sibling that has passed away...guess they didn't want to make it to easy for us researchers!
