The last name of Christine (Christina, Kristina, Cherstina, Kjerstina, etc.) would not have changed in Sweden (unless she adopted a surname such as Osberg (Åsberg?). Patronymic names such as Larsdotter (daughter of Lars) would not have been changed after marriage in that time period. Women didn't suddenly become the son (or daughter) of their husband's father just because they married. Swedish women tended to keep their patronymic names in Sweden for their entire lives. It is only after emigrating that they realized that U.S. customs were different. It seems that they liked having a surname, so sometimes they used that surname in addition to or in place of their patronymic name, but she really wouldn't have gone by a husband's patronymic at that time period. She would not have used the names Christina son of Erik (Eriksson), son of Jens (Jensson) at that time period along with her daughter of Lars (Larsdotter) patronymic name.

On the other hand, she was Larsdotter plus she emigrated with her father, who was an Eriksson. I assume she used Eriksson in the U.S. because that was her father's name and she wanted to seem more American. She still remained the daughter of Lars (Larsdotter) but she used his patronymic name (Eriksson; but with an Americanized spelling) since she was part of his family.

I have no idea where Jensen comes from but the sen ending is either Danish or Norwegian. Swedes use the son ending.

It would help to know when she was born.

Have you used the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center? They are very busy and have a long waiting list but it is probably the best chance you have of finding these people. They have a website but their extensive collection of records is not online.

I see this family on the Emibas CD, made from registrations in the Swedish parish to go to a foreign country. It is about 75% complete and doesn't translate titles and occupations. Perhaps it is the parents with some siblings.

I checked page 108 in the household examination roll using the Genline site. The record of this family, plus a daughter Christina born 14 February?? 1840, was listed on this page number (GID number).

http://www.genline.com (fee-based)

GID # 2089.71.88200

Christina moved elsewhere on 27 February 1857 but I can't read it very well. I wonder if that is your Christina but since you didn't tell us when she was born, it is hard to know if this is the correct family.
