I checked the death records in Henry Co, not obituaries. Not sure this is any help but the records said he died Dec. 23, 1898 in Henry Co. That he was 74, died of diabetes in Mt. Pleasant and was buried in Danville, IA which is in Des Moines Co, IA. I checked and could not find any note of him in Danville cemeteries.
Sorry this seems to come up short.
