Hi Vicki, It's not how you or I or the Leahey's spelled it or pronounced it, it's how the enumerator spelled it or the indexer intrepreted the handwriting. But my reason for asking is I found in 1880 about 5 pgs away from the Mackin family in Webster co, a Francis & Ellen Baily. They have a daughter Margret, 17, Ire. Margret has 3 brothers born Ire & younger sibs Kate 13 & James 11, both Ia. Again tho, I couldn't find this family on another census enumerated as Baily or Leahy. Good luck in your quest tho. Dick
