The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa

HELEN SOPHIA CLAUSON was born in Sweden, April 20, 1823, and died at the
home of her grandson, BOB GORDON, of Lincoln Township, August 27, 1908, age 85 years, 4 months and 7 days.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday at 10 o'clock a.m., conducted
by Rev. Elmquist of the Swedish Lutheran Church, and interment made in
Oxford Cemetery.
She was a true Christian woman and has gone to receive her reward. She
leaves two children, GUS CLAUSON and MRS. GORDON, both of Chariton, besides a large circle of friends to mourn her departure. Her husband preceded her to the grave.
