The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, Janaury 10, 1907
JAMES CURTIS BECKER, son of LESTER BECKER and wife, was born Nov. 8, 1905,
and died Jan. 5, 1907, aged 1 year, 1 month and 27 days, of heart failure.
Little CURTIS had never been a strong child from birth, but seemed better of
late and was apparently gaining in health and strength. On Saturday morning
the mother went about her household duties as usual, leaving the little boy
in bed for his accustomed morning sleep, going in occasionally to see that
he was all right. When entering the room about 8:30 she noticed an
unnatural expression upon his little face and took him in her arms, where he
expired within a few moments.
Funeral serivces were held at the family home on Sunday, at 2 o'clock p.m.,
conducted by Rev. Father Kennedy and the remains tenderly laid to rest in
the Catholic Cemetery. The sympathy of the community goes out to the heart
broken parents, in this sad hour of trial, and the great loss they have
sustained.
