The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa

DON NICKELL, the 14-year-old son of JASPER NICKELL and wife of Lucas, died
at Eldora, Thursday night after a few days' illness with tuberculosis of the
brain. He had received an injury on the head several years ago which had
caused a slight derangement of his mind and which finally caused his death.
It was thought advisable by his parents to place him in the school for boys,
at that place, where he was taken five weeks prior to his death. His
parents were notified of his illness but arrived a few hours too late.
The remains were brought to Lucas, where funeral services were held on
Sunday. The parents have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their
sad bereavement.
