The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, December 27, 1906 LUCAS LEDGER ITEMS: WILL BOLTON went to Lafayette, Col., Tuesday, where he has employment. The infant son of J.A. BASS and wife, died last Saturday morning of pneumonia, and was buried on Sunday. MISSES ALICE, KATHERINE and MARY SEDDEN, of Rutledge, came Monday evening to visit their grandmother, MRS. BELLE SEDDEN. A.R. WILLIAMS and family who have spent the past three months with relatives in Union Township, left Tuesday for their home at Cody, Wyo. JESSE SPENCER and CLYDE KNOTTS, who have been working in the machine shops at Lincoln, Neb., came home today to spend the holidays with their parents. MRS. JANE CRAWFORD, who has been visiting her sister, MRS. A. CHERRYHOLMES of Derby, and aunt, MRS. MATILDA BEVARD of Union Township, left Sunday night for her home at Beaver City, Neb. MISS LOUIS ROBISON, who is taking a course in music at Des Moines, came home today to spend the holidays with her parents, JNO. T. ROBISON and wife, south of Lucas. She was accompanied home by her friend, MISS LEONA VAN O LINDA. REV. S.M. CLARK assisted by a number of members of the Baptist Church at Goshen, held services at the home of Grandpa POLLARD in Union Township, last Monday afternoon. MR. POLLARD has been in quite feeble health for some time and unable to attend church, and the meeting was a very enjoyable one to him JOHN A. EVANS received a telegram this morning from Coalfield, stating that his father, JOHN E. EVANS, died early this morning after an illness of only one week with lung trouble. The body will be brought to Lucas on No. 3, Sunday, for burial The hour for the funeral has not yet been set. MR.
