The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Saturday, January 12, 1905 IRA BRYANT, son of MR. and MRS. W.W. BRYANT of Benton Township, was found dead in bed last Friday morning. He had been ill with pneumonia but had almost recovered, and was able to be up and about the house. Death was due to heart failure and his untimely demise was a great shock to his relatives. Largely attended funeral services were held at Salem Church on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Rusk of the Russell M.E. Church after which the remains were interred in the Salem Cemetery. IRA BRYANT was born near Griswold, Iowa, on February 7, 1888. About nine years ago he came to this county with his parents where they have since resided. He was a young man of splendid habits and exceptional good character, possessing a sunny disposition that won for him the love and regard of all with whom he came in contact. His death has cast a gloom over many homes. Innumerable friends extend heartfelt sympathy to the parents, three sisters and one brother who survive him. His grandfather, PRYOR WILSON, and two uncles, ALBERT and EMORY WILSON, of Ottumwa, attended the last sad rites. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert May 17, 2004 http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialucas/Main.htm Notify Administrator about this message?
