High Point Items.

The social event of last week was an ice cream given by Frank and Nellie
WARRINGTON to their young friends Tuesday evening.

Misses Jessie KELLER and Nettie CARR were baptized and received into the
church last Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. KELLER attended Sunday school at Rocky Point last Sunday.
Miss Gertie is the organist at that place.

Miss Mable HORNER, of Davis city, was the guest of the Misses CARTWRIGHT
Saturday and Sunday.

Miss Mary WILSON and old time resident of this place, but now of Kansas, came
in last week on a visit to friends and relatives here.

Miss Villa MCFARLAND is secretary of the Sunday school. Miss Martha KENDALL
resigned the place to accept that of teacher.

Oats are rather a light crop, and also of light weight generally.

Some pieces of corn is beginning to fire at the bottom.

Potatoes will be a light crop, owing to the bugs and dry hot weather.

The pastures are suffering greatly for rain.

Mrs. Dihle SWOPE will go to Prof. ? music school at Leon next week. She
expects to make of herself a proficient music teacher.

Mr. and Mrs. E. A. SAUNDERS of Shannon City, is visiting Mrs. SAUNDERS'
mother, Mrs. HITCHCOCK, and other relatives here.

Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan HINEBAUGH of Kansas, is visiting friends and relatives
hereabouts.

Miss Mary BRANT is staying with her grandmother, Mrs. MILLER.

Misses Mary and Delilah KONKLIN visited with the Misses WOOLLEY Saturday and
Sunday.

W. A. KELLER's folks were in Leon last Friday visiting E. H. ALEXANDERS and
attending the show.

Miss Effie ?vis spent Saturday and Sunday in Woodland.

Mr. KELLER had the misfortune to break his wagon down. He had borrowed a
load of corn of Preston WILEY and in hauling it home the tire ran off the wheel
and several spokes were broken.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. MORTON, of Leroy, attended church here last Sunday.

The Republican caucus was quite well attended last Saturday and a full
delegation selected to attend the Co. convention at Leon next Saturday. W. H. PARIS
was nominated for township trustee.
