Thanks for taking the time to reply Dick. I have located Charles Muller Hinkle in the Eden Township,Decatur,Iowa federal census of 1900. I could not find him in the 1920 census. I have located his son, my grandfather, George Shepherd Hinkle in the 1920 census of Oklahoma (Broken Arrow,Tulsa,Oklahoma) but not Charles Muller Hinkle. I have not checked the 1910 census yet so maybe something will turn up there when I get the chance to check it. I understand there is no Soundex index for Iowa for the 1910 census. I'm kind of new to all of this so I am sure there are a lot of souces availaable that I haven't checked. Kinda learning as I go. Thanks again.
