Messrs. WILL FAIR and CLEMENT MCCOLLOUGH gave a dance at the Pythian Temple Tuesday evening that was greatly enjoyed by the large number present.
A number of young people spent a few pleasant hours at the home of MR. and MRS. BEN DARRAH last Friday evening. Light refreshments were served and cards furnished the amusement.
DOLLIE JOHNSON, daughter of MRS. ALICE JOHNSON, was given a pleasant surprise at her home in the west part of the city on Saturday afternoon by about fifteen of her little girl friends, the occasion being her seventh birthday. She was presented with a number of beautiful tokens. Light refreshments were served and a happy time was had by all.
MISS ANNA JOHNSON entertained a large number of friends at her home last Thursday evening as a surprise for her friend, MISS EMMA PETERSON, and in commemoration of that lady's birthday. Light refreshments were served and the evening was pleasantly spent in playing games. MISS PETERSON was presented with a beautiful silk Persian shawl and a number of other useful gifts, as tokens of esteem and regard from her friends.
On Wednesday evening, January 30, 1905, at the home of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. ERNEST EVANS, in Woodburn, occurred the marriage of their only daughter, MAUD MABEL to CHARLIE S. DAVIS. Promptly at 6 o'clock, to the strains of a wedding march, the young couple, preceded by the officiating clergyman, Rev. John Edwards, marched into the parlor and took their places in the bay window which was beautifully decorated with ferns and blooming plants, where the words were spoken which united the lives of the worthy couple. The ceremony was performed in the presence of the relatives and a few intimate friends, and after congratulations had been extended, the company repaired to the dining room where they did full justice to the sumptuous dinner which had been prepared for them. The bride was gowned in pale blue silk trimmed with beautiful lace, while the groom wore the customary black. MR. and MRS. DAVIS left on Monday morning for Richland where they will visit a short time with relatives after which they expect to return to Woodburn and take up their residence with MRS. DAVIS' parents and where they will be at home to their many friends. The guests left many beautiful gifts as tokens of the high esteem in which they hold the happy couple. May joy be theirs in the fullest measure, is the wish of their friends.
