The age for Thomas did not increase by 10 yrs for each census, but I am sure the below censuses were for the same man:

1900 census - Orange City, Sioux Co. Iowa; 11 June 1900, page 103a

Bodkin, Tom, born Feb. 1868, 32, married 11 yrs., born in WVA as were his parents; Peddler
Mary, Oct. 1858, 41, 5 children with 5 living, WVA WVA WVA
Tommy, Dec. 1890, 9, IA
Jim, June 1892, 7, IA
Annie, Mar. 1894, 6, IA
Mary, Jan. 1897, 3, IA
Peter, Dec. 1899, 6/12, IA

Bodkin, Thomas E. Sr., 48, 1st marriage, married 22 yrs., born in WVA and parents in IRE; Farmer
Byrne M., 50, 1st marriage, 5 children with 5 living; WVA IRE IRE
Thomas E. Jr., 20, IA
James M., 17, IA
Anna, 15, IA
Mary, 13, IA
Peter, 9, IA

in 1920 they were in the same place - he was 53 and she was 63. This time her name was Elizabeth.
In 1930 they were in the same place. He was 55 and she was 72.

I note that in 1870 he was age 5.
