Looking for information about the marriage of my Grandparents: Willis Lee MERRIMAN (b. Dec. 1875 in TX) and Marie (Mary Ann) McCLARENCE/McLARENCE (b. Sept. 1875 in Co. Durham, England). I know they married between September 1900 and Oct. 1901 because of the 1900 census and birth dates of a child of my Grandmother and a child of both of my grandparents. My G-Grandparents (Willis' parents: Simon Willis MERRIMAN and Sarah McCONNELL Merriman) lived in Marshatown, Marshall County, IA during this time frame but no luck in finding the marriage info there.They also lived in Fargo, Cass, ND for a time after their marriage but I have not been able to locate the marriage info there either. In ILL., they lived in Bureau County, IL and Cook County, IL. I have been unable to locate a marriage certificate in IL even using the cyberillinois site online.
I would appreciate any ideas for further research. If anyone has come across these names during their searches, I would appreciate communicating.
