Daniel Gerkey (1822-1892) born in PA, died in Marion Co., Iowa, married Mary _______. The 1900 Marion Co., Iowa census states Mary had 8 children with 6 still living. I have listed 9 children: Didama or perhaps Dimus(1848), Melinda (1853), Mary J. (abt 1851), Lucinda (1853), Saloma (1855), Rachel (1856), Nancy (1858), Willie S. (1861) and A. (1866). I did not find Melinda in the 1860 or 1870 census, but did find her in the 1900 census married to Thomas J. Brown with her mother Mary J. Gerkey living with them. In the 1860 and 1870 census, I found Mary or M. J. listed as a child. Any help would be appreciated.
