I was unable to find out anything about Bertha Bane/Bain, other than the 1900 census. It may be she was married to a Bane for a short time, and her maiden name was something else?? I am not related , but thought I might me able to help. I believe I have the Benge ancestry, as follows.

Alexander was the son of Thomas Benge, b 1 Feb 1801 at Benge, Clay Co. KY., married Dorcas Bales b 27 Dec 1798 Ky. 4 children
Thomas Benge died 18 Aug 1879 Warren co. Iowa, the son of David Benge b 17 aug 1760 Albemarle Co. VA., m Lucretia Perry b abt 1770 NC, married 10 Feb 1821 Marion Co Ind. 3 children. David Benge d 3 mar 1854 Clay Co. Ky.
