According to the History of Mahaska County, Iowa,
Solomon Shaw was born March 6, 1809 in Perry County, PA and died February 5, 1896 in Mahaska Co., Iowa. He married 1st Mary Zigler in 1837, m. 2nd Susan Strome.
Children of Solomon Shaw and Mary Zigler:
i. John Shaw was born ca1839 and died 1921 in Oskalaoosa, Mahaska County, Iowa.
ii.William H. Shaw was born October 2, 1840 in Mifflin County, PA and died June 23, 1926 in Iowa.
iii. Levi Shaw was born ca1842 in PA and died February 9, 1920 in Mena, Arkansas.
iv. Charles Shaw was born ca1845 in PA.
v. Solomon Shaw was born ca1847 in Pennsylvania.
vi. Elizabeth Shaw was born ca1849 in Ohio.
vii. Susanna Shaw was born ca1855 in Ohio.
Children of Solomon Shaw and Susan Strome:
viii. David Shaw was born Between 1831 and 1835.
ix. George Shaw was born Between 1831 and 1835.
My research is particularly interested in
William H. Shaw (no.ii above) 1840-1926.
He married Susannah M. McWilliams in 1867 in Polk Co., Iowa. She was b.1845 in Ohio and d. 1913 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, dau of James C. McWilliams and Nancy W. McCarter.
Children of William H. Shaw and Susannah M. McWilliams:
i. Eleanor C. "Ella" Shaw, b 1870 in Iowa.
ii. Ernest H. Shaw was born 1876 in Iowa.
