Jim,

Do you have the 1870 census of Winterset, Lincoln
Township, Madison County, Iowa dated August 2, 1870?

If not, I found James Murphy 53, farm laborer born in
Tennessee; Robert Murphy, 22, farm laborer born Illinois;
Moses Murphy, 15, farm laborer, born Illinois; and
Elsie,8, no occupation, born Illinois. This family was
living with William & Mary Wright and their son Marion
Wright, 2, born in Iowa.

Elsie Murphy was living with William & Mary Wright
in the 1880 Census of Sheridan, Nemaha County,Nebraska
dated June 1880; it lists her as William's sister-in-law.

James Murphy is Mary Wright's father.

In the 1885 Census Precinct Douglas, Nemaha County,
Nebraska has:
William Wright, 44, Virginia
Frank Wright, 16, Iowa (this would be Marion F.)
Eddie Wright, 14, Iowa
Charley Wright, 9, Iowa
Myrtle Wright, 3, Nebraska

I believe Mary passed away between 1882 and 1885.
Will need to search for a death date

Just compared 1880 and 1885 census. What happened
to W. H. Wright? It would appear that he died
between 1880 and 1885.

I would agree with you that some of the Wright's
in Winterset would be related to William. Back
then, families tended to travel to the same places.

Hope all this is helpful.
Sharon
