Reuben Alexander Clearwater was b. 1839 in Putnam Co. IN and d. May 6, 1910. He married Sarepta Black Sept 20, 1867 in Marion Co. IA. In addition to children in 1880 census, I also have another son, William M. Clearwater, dob unknown.
Reuben was the son of Levi Clearwater and Elizabeth Dunivan also in the same census, Dist. 111 pg. 15. He was the grandson of David Clearwater and Mary Miller of Putnam Co. IN and the great-grandson of Jacob Clearwater and Elizabeth Armstrong of Clinton Co. OH, Greene Co. TN and Guilford Co. NC. Jacob was a Rev. War veteran and a Quaker.
The only descendents I have found of Reuben and Sarepta were from their son, Charles Wesley who married "Lina" Juliana Johnson April 6, 1893 in Henry Co. MO and died in Long Beach CA in 1960. Their children were Paul, Ina Elizabeth and Joseph Edward Clearwater (1908-1978).
I have 2 living children of Joseph Edward but will not name them here.
