No relation. I just enjoy browsing through family Bibles up for auction on eBay and I came across one with the following information:
Seth Meredith Davis, b. 4 Feb 1862, m. 25 Jan 1893 to Mary H. LEWIS, & d. 25 Aug 1898. They had 2 children:
Geneva Catherine Davis, b. 19 Sep 1895
Lewis Abner Davis, b. 27 Aug 1897
The Bible itself was written in Welsh. An address was written inside for an Alice Davis living in Louisa Co.
According to the 1880 Louisa Co, IA census, Seth is the son of Hugh E. & Catherine (JONES) Davis. Hugh is indicated as being from Wales. According to a family tree I found on Rootsweb.com, Catherine, b. 10 Jul 1834 in England, is the daughter of David M. & Elizabeth JONES.
