--I'm tracing an ALICE DAYMUDE Hansen, known to have a sister named LAURA DAYMUDE Labart.
--Seeking more info, on the DAYMUDE family. The Keokum Co. connection is that William Burr DAYMUDE enlisted on the Union side in the Civil War with the 8th Iowa Infantry - Keokuk. I assume he had roots in that area. Have found a listing from 1867 for the Davenport Iowa Soldiers Orphans Home {Scott Co. GenWeb site} naming him and daughters. Daughters listed names are Rosa and Laura. Mother, name unknown, was said to be Southern gal who returned to the South. Wm. B. DAYMUDE remarried, this according to e-mail, and had two sons neither of which survived to adulthood. I've found Daymude on over in Nebraska, Polk Co., at Osceola (cemetery listing for two children and a Web Daymude, 1880's), and as amongst the first settlers in 1871 in Valley Precinct, Polk Co., NE.
