John C. Dansdill, Danzal, Dansdall b. 1861 in Iowa

I am trying to find information on a John C. DANSEL family possibly from the Keokuk area. The spelling of the last name has most likely changed from now to when he lived in Iowa. Other possible spellings are DANSDILL, DANZAL, or DANSZELL, and possibly other variations. Looking through the census for the Keokuk area I find families with these and similar spellings but no John C. of the correct age. Census data indicates that John C. was born about 1861 in Iowa as were his mother and father. He would have most likely lived in Iowa until he moved to Kansas in the late 1870s. In 1880 John C. was 19 years old, single, a farm laborer, and living with another family in Morris County, Kansas. In 1881 he married a Margaret M. Patterson also from Morris county Kansas and then moved West to the Dodge City, Ford County area. Any information or suggestions to
further my search would be greatly appreciated since I have about exhausted all possibilities I can think of.
Thanks.
