Hi! Dianne,
Thank you ever so much for your search on Wm. H. Evans. On the list of KEOKUK COUNTY WPA RECORDS, i RECOGNIZE some of those Evans. G. L. Evans (Gideon Evans) who was a distant relative of my great Grandfather, Wm. H. Evans. I saw his stone at the old Methodist Cemetery in Richland, Ia. Margaret, apparently was his wife. I don't know what her maiden name was. Samuel A. Evans was a bro. to Gideon Evans. Of course, William O. Evans was my grandfather (William Oliver Evans). he mar. Grace Lille Teller, the dau. of Henry S. Teller and Julia Ann Ford Teller. On your second search, you mentioned Sarah Vulgamott. Could she be Joseph S. Vulgamott's mother. I think his mother's name was Sarah Spencer Vulgamott. I have the info. as to some of the children and Eliz. Ruggles parents who are bur. in the Bluepoint Cem. I still have not found out what became of their dau. Laura Evans Joseph S. Vulgamott's wife, Ella Evans. Now getting back to Wm. H. Evans, I took a trip to Mt. Pleasant I believe in l992 of Sept. along with my son, John and inquired if he was ever hospitalized at that institution. We found out he had been from around l867 off and on up to about l877. I have the papers but they are barely readable as the ink is almost faded. I inquired if he had died and was bur. in Henry County, and they told me he was not bur. in that County. So, I am still wondering what really became of him. I did have a faint lead concerning Elizabeth, as she was supposedly to have stayed with her sister who mar. a Turnbull near Libertyville, Ia. It was a false lead. So, where was she bur.?
Anyway thank you again, Dianne. You have been helpful in my genealogy and I sure thank you for your patience and labor in my search.
