A database of Iowa marriages on Ancestry.com lists the marriage of Hannah Chandler to William Conner on 3 Aug 1856 in Johnson County. And Dr. Jesse Bowen's surname was definitely Bowen. He was one of the leading abolitionists in Johnson County before the Civil War.
