The Iowa City Press-Citizen is the newspaper that would have carried an obituary for James A. Hacker in 1933. Portions of that paper are online at Ancestry.com and there are several mentions of the Kenneth and Leonard Hacker families in 1938/9 issues. (Also a baby photo of me.) The 1933 issues are not online at this time. The Iowa City Public Library maintains a complete microfilm copy of this newspaper, and they sent me copies of articles about my uncle's death in 1925. They have a web site at: http://www.icpl.org/ and I used their "Ask a Librarian" service to request a search of the newspaper, that is at: http://www.icpl.org/resources/reference/
Good luck in your search.
