I checked with the editor of the Solon Economist to make sure there wouldn't be any copyright problems if I photocopied the whole book for you, but he said to go right ahead. If you'd prefer to have an official bound copy and are willing to wait, the editor told me they're planning to reprint the book some time this year. Otherwise, send me your address and I'll mail you a photocopy.
As for the obituaries, if you know the exact dates and have only a small number of obituaries, probably someone at the Solon library or at the State Historical Society of Iowa (SHSI) in Iowa City will be able to send you what you need for a small fee. If you want anything more, you'd be better off paying a local genealogical consultant to do the research for you. I believe the SHSI maintains a list of such consultants.
