There is a small booklett of the History of Solon Iowa which was published around 1922 and comprised of a number of newspaper articles. My Aunt had found this at the Solon Iowa Library and copied a couple of articles pertaining to our line. I later went to copy the entire booklett but arrived just before closing and was unable to.
I am now trying to locate someone who can copy that for me since I am out of state.
However, in the random pages my Aunt copied I find a reference to Warren SPurrier, though brief.
It reads as follows:
The organization of the Big Grove Township was effected in 1845 and the first board of trustees was composed of Dan Smith, who lived on the place now occupied by Mrs. Arther White and her brother, Steve Devault; Warren Stiles and Warren Spurrier who lived on the farm owned by Mrs Brunhilda Upmier and the home of her sons Paul and Emile. Mr. Spurriers two daughters, Mrs. Kenderdine and Mrs Sevenson, are now residents of Lisbon but often come to solon to visit their girlhood friends.
I only have a couple of paged copied but there is no other reference to Warner on the pages I have. There is one other reference to his daughter. In a paragraph speaking about Anton Wolf it reads:
Later he bought the old schoolhouse that stands where the White Schoolhouse now stands, and of which Mrs Kenderdine of Lisbon, then Miss Mary Spurrier was the first teacher.
