Death of Miss. Alice Craine, daughter of George Craine. Born in this city June, 1844.

SIXTY YEARS IN JEFFERSON COUNTY. Mrs. Mary M. Craine, who died in this city Monday. Daughter of John McComb, who came here in 1844; she was born in Washington County, Penn., March 8th 1832. Married David Tweed April 5th 1849. The husband died February 16th 1862. Three years later, August 24th 1865, Mrs. Tweed was married to Evan L. Craine, a pioneer merchant of Fairfield. He died about ten years later.
*Looking at census records: I believe that Evan L. and George Craine were brothers. Both were born in Pennsylvania. Alice Craine was the daughter of George and Nancy J. Craine. All living in Jefferson County, Iowa.
