I went to the library today and I found him. There was a state census in 1856. He lived in the town of Newton, Jasper Co Iowa p.296

John Swiggart 56 widowed PA res. in state 2 yrs. (under occupation was an F, I assume farmer)
George Swiggart 16 OH lived in state 2 yrs.
G. W. Gel 24 NY Clerk " " " 1
Francis Cozad 19 OH "
J.W. Prest 28 IN Merchant " " " 3
