Jackie,
Eugene Hiram Arnold married Carrie Mitchell in 1875...that is in the Iowa Marriage records, On-Line.
Family notes call her Carolyn........
other notes confuse me, because they have the names: John Mitchell, Frank, William. I do not know if there was a son named: John Mitchell,,,,or these are the names of perhaps her brother, etc. WAS IT John Mitchell Arnold???
Carrie left Colfax, IA and went back to Xenia, OH.,,,,sometime after 1875
EugenHiram Arnold was in Ogden, CA by 1884---the obit book or obit said!
I see in the 1870 census there is a ??flock Mitchell & wife, Missouri......and they have a Carrie Mitchell, 10y old.
Since I am not sure of what his first name is I cannot trace him back into Ohio, although it says he was born there!
