The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, June 1, 1905 MR. WILEY MCFADDEN, a well known resident of this city, passed away on Saturday forenoon, May 27, 1905, at eleven o'clock, after an illness of several months with a complication of diseases. While it was known that he could not recover yet death came suddenly and was entirely unexpected. Largely attended funeral services conducted by Rev. F.B. Palmer were held at the home of his daughter, MRS. T.F. SULLIVAN, on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, under the auspices of the M.W.A. of which he had been a respected member. At the close of the services the remains were interred in the Chariton Cemetery. WILEY MCFADDEN was born in Jackson County, Iowa, on May 20, 1852. He came to Chariton from Albia about fourteen years ago and has since made his home here with his children, his wife having passed away twenty-one years ago. He is survived by three children, MRS. T.F. SULLIVAN and WILL MCFADDEN of this city and MRS. FRANCES COONEY of Omaha. Two brothers are also living, DAN of Avery and L.W. of Kansas City. These near relatives were all present at the last sad rites. MR. MCFADDEN had been in the employ of the C.B. & Q. for many years and was one of its most faithful employees. He was industrious and energetic, with a kind and generous disposition, and had a host of warm friends who learned of his death with deep regret. The deepest sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved ones in their great sorrow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CARD OF THANKS We desire to thank the kind neighbors and friends and especially the M.W.A. who assisted us in the sickness and death of our beloved father. WM. MCFADDEN MRS. THOS. COONEY MRS. T.F. SULLIVAN. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert August 24, 2004 http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialucas/Main.htm Notify Administrator about this message?
