Lewis H. Clark was the son of William Clark and most likely his wife Almira (perhaps Snyder). They were living in McHenry Twp., McHenry Co., Illinois, in 1850 (p. 500). This family was next to Josephus Clark and family (my ancestors). I am about 95% sure that this William Clark was the William Clark of Fabius, Onondaga Co., New York, who married first Clarissa Webster, and apparently second Almira Snyder (?). William Clark is said to have moved to Ringwood, McHenry Co., in 1847.

William Clark of Fabius was the son of another William Clark and Eunice Weathersby, both originally of Wethersfield, CT. William Clark, Sr., was a soldier in the Revolution.

Lewis H. Clark married Julia M. Morey on 4 July 1854 in McHenry Co., Illinois. They remained in that county at least through the time of the 1865 Illinois state census. By 1870, they were in Jamestown, Howard Co., Iowa. Lewis and Julia's children were Fred, James, Paschal, Clara, and Laura (I'm guessing this should be Luna). Lewis and Julia were still in Jamestown at the time of the 1880 census. I lose them after that. Lewis's birthplace, as well as his parents', is given as Virginia in that census although all other censuses say New York for his birthplace.
