Lettie: saw your posting for death certifcate info. I hve recently been ordering death certificates for my grandparents who died in Mt. Pleasant in the early 30's and other relatives who died in Henry County.
All certifcates come out of the Dept of Vital Records in Des Moines. Go to Web site www.idph.state.ia.us and you will find very detailed info on what to do. Cost's ten bucks per head, but I think it's worth it. There is also a form you print and fill out your info and mail it to them. It takes about 4 to 6 weeks, but you get a fairly detailed cerificate. If the original is sort of hard to read they send you the original too so you can figure it out yourself.
Hope this helps. If you need any further help, I will be glad to try.
