The Trouble with Harry (I. Foreman, b. 1885, Iowa)
Posted by: Carolyn Davis (ID *****3986) Date: April 22, 2002 at 22:44:04

In the 1900 Census of Modale Town, Taylor Twp, Harrison Co., IA, I found this family:

Foreman, Geo W., b. 1858
Margaret, Wife, b. 1862
Harry, Son, b. 1885
Tessie, Dau., b. 1891
Lola, Dau., b. 1895
Mattie, Dau., b. 1897 (she was my grandma)

and in the 1905 Directory of Harrison Co., IA, St. John's Twp, rural residents, I found them again:

Foreman, G.W. Farmer
Mrs. Margaret A.
Harry I.
Tessie H.
Lola F.
Mattie M.
Fred B.
Florence E.

George and Margaret also had a son, Clifford, b. 1887, d. 1888 - they are all buried near each other in Oak Grove cemetery in St. John's Twp.

I know for sure that Tessie, Lola, Mattie, Fred and Florence eventually moved to Colorado, but I can't figure out what happened to Harry! My uncle and late father never mentioned an Uncle Harry, so I'm thinking he either died before they were born, or never migrated to Colorado with the rest of the family. Any information would be appreciated!
