Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at Barstow, California for Dr. E. O. Koeneman and his grandson, Tom Osman, who were killed instantly when the car in which they were driving was struck by a fast freight. The car was completely demolished and it was not possible to tell which one was driving. Mrs. Koeneman and her daughter, Mrs. John W. Koeneman was born in Saint Louis, August 13, 1878. The family came to Whitten, Iowa, where the father operated a drug store nearly 60 years ago. Dr. Koeneman worked in the drug store and later studied medicine in Chicago and had practiced in Eldora for nearly 50 years. He held several official positions of honor in his profession, among them member of the legislative committee of the state medical association. His wife, the former Bessie Kenter was also a native of Whitten. They were the parents of three children, Mrs. Margaret Osman, who died in December, 1945; Mrs. John W. Moffett, who with her husband is removing from Des Moines to Minneapolis, where Dr. Moffet is associated with the Minneapolis Star-Journal, and John Koeneman, Barstow, California. Miss Gene Osman, daughter of the deceased daughter, and sister of Tom Osman, is a student at Drake University. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. James L. Brown, Eldora, Mrs. Calvin Boylan, Iowa Falls, Mrs. Aaron Boylan, San Diego, California, Mrs. W. O. Reed, Pasadena, California and a brother, W. T. Koeneman, Seattle.
