Rachel,
since my earlier post I have received the family tree from some sources in Mecklenburg. From those sources, there was a brother named Johann Jurgen Carl Schlichting, born 12/9/1828 in Bresegard who married Maria Elizabeth Dorothea Laudahn on 11/30/1864 in Eldena. (Full baptismal names) This seems to possibly be parents on the 1910 census for Twin Lakes, Hancock county, Iowa household listing of:

Schlicting, Fred, head, age 32, born Germany, immigrated in 1885
---, Dora, Mother, age 81, married 45 years, born Germany, immigrated in 1885
---, Carl, Father, age 81, married 45 years, born Germany, immigated in 1885.

Would like to exchange further info. My email should be displayed with this message.

Richard Corey
