KRANTZ, DOESCHER in Pleasant Valley twp.

I am researching the William Krantz family who lived just north of the Pleasant Valley Church in Pleasant Valley township, Grundy County, Iowa. William died in 1909 and the farm was purchased by Henry Hook. His widow, Sarah, and the children remaining at home moved to South Dakota. William Krantz and his first wife, Augustine (Giese) Krance are buried near the church and their young son is buried in the SE corner. There is a stone next to Augustine's that says "Father". Augustine's father is buried in Jefferson Co. Wisconsin. Who is this "Father"? I have been unable to find Augustine's obituary. She died in March, 1878. Was there a German newspaper in the Wellsburg area? Are any old papers available?
