Thank you Barb,
I had seen the 1880 census but appreciate you confirming it to me.. I think that I remember the census was dated June 1880, one month before my grandfather George R. Stevens was born. George R.’s 1932 obit says he grew up on the Greene County farm that he was born. George and Emma had another son and two daughters probably born in Greene county...

Oral history from my mother and aunt has always led me to believe George R. was born Council Bluffs..
The census and obit cinches Greene Co.

I don’t know who George’s parents were or how long he was in Iowa.
Emma was living in Omaha after her husbands 1913 death..(and maybe before).. They are buried in Silver City, Mills Co. Ia.
Thanx again.. You are appreciated.
