Van Scyoc family ca. 1850

I am searching for information on a family which lived in the Fremont Co. area (possibly Hamberg) between 1847-1855.

The name may have been recorded as SCHYHOCK, SIKE, Scyoc, Syoc, Schyiak, Schiaak, with the Van-connected or not (i.e., Vanscyoc or Van Scyoc, Van Schyhock, etc.).

I have a Franklin Van Scyoc born there in 1849 in Hamberg. On the 1850 census there is listed an "A.V. SCHYHOCK, aged 42, b. VA with a wife Sarah Ann aged 24 born in VA. with a daughter Margaret aged 3 born in Iowa and a son Franklin aged 6 months Iowa.

I would like to hear from anyone with knowlege of these people.

Marilyn Hudson
