Your ancestors, even though born in Kentucky, had probably migrated to Illinois with their parents. There are many, many MOORE names in and around Fulton County, IL in the middle 1800's. My own ancestors came from Kentucky into Warren and Fulton Counties, IL. There is an entire book devoted to early Kentucky settlers in Illinois, although right now I can't remember the name of it.

Have you searched the 1850 census records for MOORE families in Fulton Co? You should find your Oliver or Perry Moore there as a young man with his father or mother.
