Hi Paula,

Thank you for your post on Ernie Ankrum. I have been able to obtain more information on Ernie Ankrum and his wife, Gertrude Upton, since I originally posted my inquiry.

The only discrepency I have noticed from the newspaper account is that Ankrum's descendants have his death occuring in June 1919, rather than February 17, 1919. I do not know which date is correct. The actual location of the train wreck was at Welcome, MN, just a short distance to the east of Sherburn, MN.

Ankrum was in the caboose when the train derailed at a road crossing according to the information I have.

Thank you again for looking into the details of Ernie Ankrum's death.

Regards,

Warren
