The Independent Patriot Nov. 16, 1893 Lamoni, Iowa PERSONALS. N. N. HAZELTON returned from Leon, Iowa, Thursday. Mrs. Robert TURNER returned from Leon, Iowa, Friday. Mr. Robert GARLAND came in from Centerville, Iowa, Saturday. Dr. J. W. MATHER came in to fill his monthly engagement Thursday. J. D. BRIGGS of Redding, Iowa, is at present visiting in town. He came Friday. Messrs. Asa S. COCHRAN and John SCOTT were in Leon, Iowa, Friday on business. J. R. SMITH returned from Leon, Iowa, Saturday, where he had been attending court. Miss Gertie SPURRIER came in from Leon, Iowa, Friday, where she has been staying for sometime. Miss Inez TURNER returned to Davis City, Iowa, after a week's visit, with relatives in this vicinity. Mrs. D. D. YOUNG and youngest son returned from their visit with relatives at Exira, Iowa, Friday. Mrs. Henry C. SMITH went to Leon, Iowa, Friday and returned Saturday, accompanied by her niece, Miss HOPKINS. Miss Dora DAVIS, who has been working for L. H. BARR, returned Saturday to her home near Ridgeway, Missouri. Mrs. HUTCHINS from Barton County, Missouri, is at present visiting with her aunt, Mrs. Wm. OFFICER, and other relatives in our town. Mr. Thomas ARCHIBALD of Burlington, Iowa, who has been here on business for the Burlington Lumber company, returned Thursday. Mr. H. S. GRANGER, brother of Mrs. N. W. SMITH, deceased, who has been here several days, returned to his home at Phillipsburg, Kansas Saturday, by way of St. Joseph, Missouri, where he will stop a day or two. Messrs. E. H. DANCER, and Edward SHEEN returned from Wakonda South Dakota, Saturday morning, where they had been for sometime, having accompanied a car of blooded stock. They report good crops in that country.
