Can anyone help me with my GGGrandfather, Elias L. ADAMS. I have the following information on him:
Delaware Co, IA, marriage records:
26 May 1853: Elias L. ADAMS, 24, m. Charity MARTIN, 18 (dau of George MARTIN and Mary LEE?, moved to Delaware Co in 1845 from Champaign Co, OH)
U. S. Census--1860, Honey Creek Twp, Delaware Co, IA:
ADAMS, Elias L., 33, m, farmer, NY
Charity, 26, f, OH
Mary, 7, f, IA, att school
George, 5, m, IA [my GGrandfather]
Asel, 3, m, IA
Ester, 1, f, IA
And 3 houses away is Asal ADAMS, 27, m, farmer, OH; and family
U. S. Census--1870, Canton town, Lewis Co., MO:
ADAMS, Elias L., 41, m, laborer, RE: $3400, NY
Charity, 36, f, keeps house, OH
Mary E., 17, f, at home, IA
George W., 15, m, at school, IA
Ashel C., 13, m, at school, IA
Ester, 11, f, at school, IL
Sardies, IA
Hubert, 5, m, MO
I haven't yet found anything on Elias in IA in the 1850 or 1880 and later censuses. Four of his children are in adjoining counties in OK in the 1910 census.
Any information on this family and their ancestors would be greatly appreciated.
