Looking for info on Hilery/Hillary Thomas KING bn 1815-1820 in Illinois married to Elisabeth HIGBEE 20 Jun 1860 in Madison County, Illinois. Three sons bn in Madison County, Illinois: Obadiah Higbee KING 1862, Ulysses Grant KING in 1865 and William H. KING Sep 1872. They moved to Soap Creek, Davis County, Iowa bef 1874 when H.T. KING bought 280 acres of land in Soap Creek from Hiram PADGETT for $7000. In 1880 they are listed in the Davis Co., IA census with a grandaughter, Sousa [Susan] DORSEY bn in 1859 in Illinois. A Mary E. KING md an Edward H. DORSEY on 22 Apr 1858 in Madison County, Illinois but on the 1860 census the wife is dead and he only listed the daughter, Susan. He remarried a Sarah Ellen HOUCK 26 Dec 1872 in Macoupin County, Illinois and they had several children together but Susan was not part of this second family. WHO was H.T. Kings first wife? What was his exact birthdate and place? HIGBEE is the line I was following. WHAT was Elisabeth HIGBEE doing in Illinois as her parents both died in Pennsylvania bef 1870? Supposedly H. T. KING died in Davis County but I have not been able to locate what cemetery he ans his wife are in? any help greatly appreciated.
