I finally found my William Taylor. He is with wife Margaret Jane and their first two daughters in Grove Twp, Stiles PO, the census page looks like it says Stilesville for the PO. The census says William is born in Virginia, not Indiana as his Civil War file states. Two families down on the 1860 census is another Taylor born in Virgina. Does this Abram Taylor age 25 look familiar to anyone? Abram has two children in 1860 (several more by 1880) including a son John H.
I'm looking for more clues to William's parents besides 'maybe' born in IN, 'maybe' born in VA. The Abram Taylor family later moved down from Davis Co., IA to Scotland Co., Missouri. William Taylor's widow moved to Schuyler Co., MO.
