Hi Deb, I can't answer your questions regarding the James that you listed, however I have a Daniel W. James b. Abt. 1820 and died 1862 in Dallas County, Iowa. I don't know who he was married to, but have the following children listed for him; John H., Harrison J., Mary L., Martha A., Harriet E., Viola M., and Sarah E. (sorry no birth dates.)
Daniel W. and his brother William G. James both held land in Adel Township, Dallas County, Iowa. Daniel's brother William G. was also appointed guardianship of Daniels children upon his death.
Daniel W. & William G. are the sons of John James and Mary Polly Carrell.
